These feature covers were photographed by Harry Hayes, editor of International Review. International Review was first published in the early 1980s as Southeast Asian Review, which provided an in-depth focus upon the conflict in Southeast Asia, especially Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. Following the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, the publication also provided in-depth coverage and analysis of the war in Afghanistan. Editor Harry Hayes and other journalists and researchers collaborating with International Review, covered the conflict from the border regions as well as within the countries at war. Harry Hayes was one of the first Western journalists allowed by the communist government in Kabul to cover the Afghan conflict from Kabul, following coverage with the Afghan resistance forces. International Review later began to provide detailed research and analysis to important international concerns, such as terrorism, arms proliferation, drug trafficking and international conflict. Following the tragic criminal attacks against the United States and the whole of civilization on 11 September, 2001 we have decided to renew and to expand our coverage and analysis of international terrorism worldwide. For indeed, this is an International War Against Terrorism! |
